This Policy details how StudyQuark Global Education Network ("StudyQuark", "we", "our", "us") safeguards learner and parent information across www.studyquark.com, our live virtual classrooms, and related diagnostic applications. We adhere strictly to applicable global child data protection regulations.

1Platform Mission & Scope

StudyQuark delivers personalized 1-on-1 and small-group enrichment programs for children aged 6 to 18. Because our learners are primarily minors, our privacy architecture is designed around parental consent, minimum necessary data collection, zero commercial data brokering, and end-to-end child safeguarding.

2Information We Collect & Purpose

We collect only information required to organize schedules, match certified mentors, and provide educational progress scorecards:

A. Parent & Student Data (Provided with Consent)

  • Parent/Guardian Full Name and Verified Email Address
  • Child's First Name, Age, and School Grade (Grades 1 to 12)
  • Contact WhatsApp/Phone Number for class calendar links and schedule alerts
  • Geographic Timezone and Region (to coordinate live class timings)
  • Learning goals, strengths, and areas for confidence building

B. Automatically Generated Diagnostic Telemetry

  • Device, browser type, and connection latency (to optimize video bitrate)
  • Class attendance and session completion timestamps
  • Speech pace (Words Per Minute), vocal modulation, and filler word counts processed after speaking practice to assist educator evaluations
  • No biometric profiling: We do not construct facial recognition models or biometric voice prints.

C. Billing & Payment Gateway

Tuition payments are handled via PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways (Razorpay, Stripe). StudyQuark never stores credit/debit card numbers, CVVs, or bank account credentials on its servers.

3Verifiable Parental Consent & Session Recordings

Parental Supervision Standard

Enrollment and registration must be initiated by a parent or legal guardian (age 18+). Direct child self-registration without verified parental contact is disabled.

Session Recording Consent & Protocols

  • Live sessions may be recorded exclusively for student safety monitoring, pedagogical quality review, and parent progress playback.
  • Parents receive explicit prior notification of recording capabilities upon booking.
  • Recordings are private and encrypted; they are never published publicly, streamed to open platforms, or used in advertising.
  • Parents may ask about recording options or request deletion of a recording by contacting support.

4Legal Frameworks

Our practices are designed with the following principles in mind:

  • India DPDPA 2023 & IT Rules 2011: We seek verified guardian consent and avoid using children's data for targeted advertising.
  • US COPPA: We aim for verifiable parental consent and provide parents access to review or request deletion of their child's data.
  • EU & UK GDPR (Article 8): Where applicable, we rely on parental authorization for educational delivery and respect erasure requests.

StudyQuark designs its child-safety and privacy practices around COPPA and GDPR principles; we do not claim formal certification under either framework.

5Service Providers

We use trusted service providers to deliver classes and communications. Where personal data is shared with providers, we take reasonable steps to use agreements and security measures appropriate to the service.

6Data Retention & Erasure

  • Class Recordings: When recordings are enabled, we keep them only as long as needed for parent review and quality assurance. We aim to delete or expire them on a reasonable schedule; exact retention may change and parents can ask about a specific recording.
  • Academic Records: Course progress and certificates are kept while your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet reasonable recordkeeping needs.
  • Parent Deletion Requests: Parents may request deletion at any time by emailing grievance@studyquark.com. We will review and act on verified requests in line with applicable laws.

7Speech Analytics Transparency

When used, speech analytics tools are advisory aids to support human mentors. Our programs remain human-guided and evaluated.
